ABOUT ME
In 1974 Christchurch hosted the Commonwealth Games. I was a young boy at the time, yet I managed to meet some of the athletes from near and far. It was their stories of ordinary people achieving extraordinary things which ignited my lifelong interest in human potential.
When I worked in Melbourne as lead consultant on organisational transformation projects, I sensed something was missing: leaders and their teams weren’t working to their strengths, they weren’t evolving fast enough to keep pace with rapid change. Consultancy didn’t provide what they needed. So, to help them grow, I grew, completing coach training in Canada and England. I returned to New Zealand and in 2004 created CoachingNZ to help leaders around the world – across different industries – thrive.
What do I do when I’m not helping leaders thrive? I’m likely out enjoying the beautiful hills or waterways of scenic New Zealand. Having started my working life as a commercial photographer I usually have a camera in hand. Home for me is Diamond Harbour on Canterbury’s Banks Peninsula which I share with my two Working Cocker Spaniels, Tussock and Jack.
